Costa Mesa, California, USA – The hosts of Hotel Investment Forum India (HIFI) have announced the winners of the Deal of the Year awards in the categories of Budget/Mid-Priced, Upper Mid-Scale/First Class, and Upscale/Luxury. The awards were presented at Hotel Investment Forum India (HIFI) on 15 January 2015, at the Leela Ambience Gurgaon Hotel and Residences, Delhi (N.C.R.), India. HIFI is hosted by Burba Hotel Network (BHN) and Horwath HTL.
In the category of Budget and Mid-Priced, the winner is Holiday Inn Express, Mahindra World City Chennai, with 140 keys, developed at a total cost of INR 545 mn (at a cost per room of INR 3.27 mn excluding cost of land and IDC), owned by Duet India Hotels and InterContinental Hotels Group, and operated by InterContinental Hotels Group. Finalists in this category also included Hilton Garden Inn Trivandrum and Red Fox Hotel, Delhi Airport, New Delhi.
In the category of Upper Mid-Scale and First Class, the winner is Novotel Kolkata Hotel and Residences, Kolkata-West Bengal, with 347 keys, developed at a total cost of INR 3,550 mn (at a cost per room of INR 10.2 mn including cost of land and interest during construction), owned by SPPL Hotels Pvt Ltd and managed by Accor. Finalists in this category also included Holiday Inn Jaipur City Centre and Lemon Tree Premier, Delhi Airport, New Delhi.
In the category of Upscale and Luxury, the winner is JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa, with 115 keys was developed at a total project cost of INR 1,500 mn (at a per room cost of INR 10.5 mn excluding cost of land and IDC), developed and owned by Competent Group of Companies, and managed by Marriott International. Finalists in this category also included Hilton Bangalore Embassy Golf Links and Radisson Blu Hotel Guwahati.
Mr. Anupam Narayan chaired the committee comprised of hotel industry leaders who nominated, reviewed, and selected the finalists. Information about the finalists was then sent to HIFI delegates for voting, and the winners were selected.
